Gold Candle Names Dean Crick as Vice President of Exploration

Gold Candle Appoints Dean Crick as Vice-President of Exploration: A New Era for the Company

Toronto, October 15, 2024 – In a significant move that underscores its commitment to growth and exploration, Gold Candle Ltd. has announced the appointment of Dean Crick as Vice-President of Exploration, effective October 29, 2024. This strategic decision is poised to enhance the company’s exploration capabilities, particularly at its flagship Kerr-Addison property, a site with a rich history and promising future.

A Seasoned Geologist Joins the Team

Dean Crick brings over 35 years of extensive experience in the mining and exploration sector, primarily focused on Northern Ontario. His most recent role was as Canadian Exploration Manager for Alamos Gold, where he played a pivotal role in the exploration successes at several of the company’s Canadian operations, including the Young-Davidson and Island Gold mines, as well as the advanced development project at Lynn Lake. Crick’s impressive track record also includes significant positions at TMAC, where he served as Director of Geoscience, and various roles across well-established operators in Canada, including Director of Geology and Chief Geologist.

Crick’s academic credentials are equally impressive. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Geological Sciences from Brock University and a Master of Science in Economic Geology from Laurentian University. As a Professional Geologist in Ontario, he has authored and served as a Qualified Person for multiple NI 43-101 Technical Reports throughout his career, further solidifying his expertise in the field.

Strategic Vision for Gold Candle

Léon LeBlanc, President and COO of Gold Candle, expressed his enthusiasm regarding Crick’s appointment, stating, “I am very happy to be announcing the addition of Dean Crick to the growing Gold Candle team.” LeBlanc highlighted Crick’s extensive experience in near-mine exploration and mineral resource estimation, emphasizing the value he will bring as the company continues to explore the Kerr-Addison property and advance through various development milestones.

Crick’s background in high-grade gold deposits, including the Dome, Campbell, and Red Lake Gold Mines, positions him uniquely to contribute to Gold Candle’s objectives. His expertise in both production geology and near-mine exploration will be instrumental as the company seeks to define new and exciting mineralization below the resource pit shell at Kerr-Addison, alongside the emerging Geminid nickel sulfide discovery.

The Kerr-Addison Property: A Gold Mine with a Legacy

Gold Candle has made significant strides in its exploration efforts, identifying an impressive 1.8 million ounces of indicated and 3.4 million ounces of inferred gold resources at the historic Kerr-Addison mine. Located in northeastern Ontario, approximately 650 kilometers north of Toronto, the mine is part of the prolific Abitibi gold belt, which extends into Quebec. Historically, the Kerr-Addison mine produced 11 million ounces of gold at an average grade of 9 grams per tonne, showcasing its potential.

The property benefits from excellent infrastructure, including major highways, rail, and air access, making it an attractive site for continued exploration and development. As Gold Candle completes its ambitious 30,000-meter drilling program, Crick’s leadership will be crucial in building on the successes of 2024 and steering the company’s exploration and development programs for 2025.

Looking Ahead

As Gold Candle embarks on this new chapter with Dean Crick at the helm of exploration, the company is well-positioned to capitalize on its rich resources and strategic location. With a focus on innovation and exploration, Gold Candle aims to not only enhance its existing operations but also to uncover new opportunities within the Kerr-Addison property and beyond.

In conclusion, the appointment of Dean Crick as Vice-President of Exploration marks a significant milestone for Gold Candle Ltd. His wealth of experience and proven track record in the mining industry will undoubtedly contribute to the company’s growth and success in the competitive landscape of gold exploration. As the company continues to advance its projects, stakeholders and investors alike will be keenly watching the developments that unfold under Crick’s leadership.
